12th Place for Kallio at Vallelunga

30/09/2007 - The eleventh race of the season has been moved today on the Italian circuit of Vallelunga for the World Supersport 600 Championship. Vesa Kallio finished the, by a red flag, ended race at the 12th position. Barry Veneman did not finish the race after grip problems.

IWorld Suppersport 600 Championshipn the warm up session of this morning Barry Veneman drove to the 22th position. This session used Veneman especially to make the last changes to the set up of his bike for the race. Vesa Kallio drove in this session to a 18th position. This afternoon in the race Veneman had a good start and could hold on his starting position. The next following laps Veneman lost more and more grip. After a long time been on the 20th position and his lap times got slower Veneman decided in the 8th lap to take no further risks and to go to the pits. Kallio had a reasonably good start but lost one place in the first lap. Just like the other riders the Finish rider also got some grip problems. But during the race Kallio was able to keep the 12th place. Eventually the race got a early finish in the 17th round caused by a red flag situation.

Marc Hoegee: "This was not a good weekend for us. Luckily Vesa finished as 12th but I'm fed up with the fact that Barry was not able to finish the race. By the lack of grip, which more riders had problems with, and don't want to take no further risks, in the 8th lap Barry decided to end the race. Vesa also had not much grip but he was able to stay in a group of riders who were fighting for a place in the top 10. I'm convinced that, if there was no red flag situation, Vesa would end in top 10. Now we have to prepare us for the last race of the season in Magny Cours, a completely different track where everything is possible."

Barry Veneman (DNF): "For the whole weekend I had problems with finding the right setting for my bike. This morning we made some last changes to the setting of the bike but they did not work as we had planned they would do. From the start of the race I had grip problems and after my lap times got slower each lap I decided to take no further risks to damage the bike or to hurt myself and to end the race. Next week will be the last race of the season in Magny Cours. I hope to get a better result there than I got here in Vallelunga so that I can keep the 8th position in the championship."

Vesa Kallio (12th position): "I kept a reasonably good feeling about the race. I had not such a good start but was able to stay with a group of riders in front of me. During the race I passed a couple of riders and found the connection with the top 10. Unfortunately the red flag came to early for me because a top ten position was possible for me. I satisfied with this result. We were able to take a couple of points but there was more in for me if the red flag did not come. Next week I hope to get some points in Magny Cours to have a good end of the season."

suzuki 205/08/2007 - In a warm United Kingdom the tenth round has been moved this afternoon for the WK Supersport Championship on the circuit of Brands Hatch. After a few laps there arised a gap between Veneman and the guys in front of him and Veneman got into a fight with Fujiwara for the 6th position. After the race elapsed Veneman could not follow the the other riders in front of him and had to let pass Foret en Alfonsi. Eventually Veneman ended at the 8th position and takes valuable points for the championship. Because Broc Parkes won the race Veneman drops one place in the championship to the 8th position in the standings.

Vesa Kallio had a tough start of the race and lost one place in the first lap. Kallio got stuck at the position for the following laps but in the 11th round he had won 3 places and was 18th. Unfortunately in the 13th lap Kallio had to retire from the race with a technical problem.

Barry had a reasonably good start and got the 19th position in the first lap. His team member Vesa Kallio won two places with his start and moved to the 21th position. After only 5 laps there was a red flag situation caused by some oil on the track after an other rider blew up
this engine. At that moment Veneman and Kallio were at a 17th and 18th position. After 12 laps Kallio had to give up the race with a
technical problem. In the second heat of the race Barry finished at an 11th position but after the times of both heats were counted up he eventually ended this weekend at a 13th position. Marc Hoegee: "Looking to the situation where we were in this weekend, I'm glad Barry was able to score some points. If I look at the race I can be reasonably satisfied after a difiicult start of the weekend. It is a pitty that Vesa had to give up with a technical problem otherwise we had two riders in to the points."

Barry Veneman (13e positie): " a difficult weekend in Misano is over, and honestly I'm glad it is. We have had some problems finding the right set up and the crash in the warm up session didn't help. The first part of the race was not very good but we could make some changes during the red flag situation. When the fuel tank got more empty I was able to push more and get 3 pionts for the overall standings. I'm still sixt in the championship and we need to fight for every position. I'm looking forward to Brno, an excellent track and we have an extra test there."

Vesa Kallio (DNF): "Im very dissapionted, I can't put it into other words. This morning I was ably to set some fast lap times with the race set up and I ended the warm up at a 15th position. In the race I was able to set constant laptimes and I was on my way to the Unfortunately I had to retire from the race because of a technical problem."

Tough start for Pioneer Hoegee Suzuki Racing in Misano

15/06/2007 - Under very warm circumstances with temperatures above 30 degrees the first free practice and the first qualifying practice have been ridden for the World Supersport Championship. During this sunny and very warm first day of practice Kallio and Veneman ended at a provisional 20th and 25th starting position.

In the free practice of this morning it became clear that it would become a tough day for Pioneer Hoegee Suzuki Racing.* Due to the very hot weather circumstances and the bumpy track it was very difficult to find the right amount of grip. Vesa Kallio ended the free morning practice at an 11th position. In the qualifying session of this afternoon Vesa was able to take away just a little less of a second of his fastest laptime of this morning. Unfortunately all competitors were a lot faster than this morning and he ended the qualifying practice at a 20th position. Veneman had a hard day at the office today with 28th position in the morning and a 25th position in the qualifying practice.

Barry Veneman (25th position - 1.42,354):
"I'm far from satisfied about today. I haven't been at the back of the field for a long time and it doesn't feel good at all! We've had some technical difficulties today which made it impossible to find the right set-up for the bike. I'm also having some trouble to get used to the new track, it's very slippery on the track because the asphalt is brand new. When we came here Tuesday there was still a big gap in the tarmac that still had to be finished! We've got a lot of work to do tomorrow and I hope we can solve our problems, and hopefully I'm able to gain quite afew positions on the grid."

Vesa Kallio (20th position - 1.41,590): "It started well today, the bike felt good and I didn't have a lot of problems with grip. In this
afternoon's qualifying practice I was able to improve my fastest laptime of this morning by almost a full second. Unfortunately it didn't bring me any higher on the ranking list. I even dropped a few positions, and ended at a 20th position. We have a good basic set-up to start from tomorrow, and we will try to work up to a top 10 position!
